Almost 1900 telemedicince consultations carried out in rural outpatient clinics

In 5 pilot oblasts, telemedicine services were introduced in 905 outpatient clinics, that employ 1400 family doctors. And 1854 telemedicine consultations (on cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology and pulmonology) have already been conducted for the rural population, informed Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, in his speech at the Governmental meeting.

“At the oblast level, we have selected 268 highly specialised doctors, who advise family physicians through telemedicine at the second and third levels. The Kharkiv, Kirovohrad and Poltava Oblasts are the leaders of this process. The Luhansk, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Mykolayiv and Kyiv Oblast have already introduced telemedicine services,” said Hennadii Zubko.

According to him, MinRegion already has a very positive experience of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science in relation to the implementation of the New Ukrainian School and the New Educational Space, where many state construction norms change in children's preschool institutions, schools, etc. The same principles apply to the reform of primary healthcare with equally high requirements for the premises, equipment and service lists.

Hennadii Zubko thanked the specialists at the tertiary level – the Strazhesko Institute, the Institute for Endocrine Surgery and Transplantation of Endocrine Organs and Tissues, that developed a series of new clinical recommendations for family physicians.

“Our goal is to cover all outpatient clinics over the Internet in 2019-2020, provide them with telemedicine equipment and transport. Because for us, the main thing is that the proposed standard further mentally changes local self-government,” he stressed.
