Twelve amalgamated hromadas of the Ternopil Oblast shared recipes of residents’ involvement into the development of their AHs and presented their own achievements at the “Festival of Hromadas”, held on 30 September in the village of Zavodske within the framework of the USAID DOBRE Programme.
The "Festival of Hromadas" is a great platform to share successful practices, as well as discuss challenges still faced by the hromadas, jointly find a solution on how to improve the interaction between the authorities and the public, so that cooperation is not imaginary, but so that it is comfortable to live in AHs due to trust and mutual support,” said Yulia Tkachuk, head of the direction of public involvement of the DOBRE Programme.
Each partner hromada presented their changes after amalgamation.
The most popular projects of local activists included creation of public spaces for the residents to get together, communicate, work on solving important hromada issues.
Hromadas of the Ternopil Oblast actively implement various participation instruments in everyday practice.
Each AH invited visitors to its stand presenting the products of local craftsmen and cuisine.
Participants of the festival took part in master classes on aviation modeling and graffiti.
The West-Ukrainian Resource Centre, a regional partner of the DOBRE Programme in the Ternopil Oblast, assisted hromadas in organising the event.
In the framework of the festival there was also a photo exhibition “Faces of New Hromadas” arranged, featuring active and decisive people, living and working in AHs. The photo project was implemented by the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre within the framework of the USAID “Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Efficiency” (DOBRE) Programme.
