“Sustainable Inclusive Recovery: Fostering Community Capacity to Meet Local Needs” is the topic of an important panel discussion timed for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023 in London.
During the event, participants will discuss how to help municipalities recover by following the principles of decentralisation and strengthening municipality capacity to meet local needs.
Key issues on the agenda include the following:
The panel discussion will be opened by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine — Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, who will talk about the Ministry’s approach to working with municipalities regarding their recovery.
The event will also bring together representatives of the Government of Ukraine, local self-government bodies, associations of local self-government bodies and civil society organisations that will contribute to establishing effective cooperation for the effective recovery and development of municipalities and territories of Ukraine.
The event was initiated by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and will be held in partnership with the Agency for Reconstruction and Development, Alinea International, the Government of Canada’s Support Ukraine’s Reforms for Governance (SURGe) project implemented by Alinea International Ltd., with the participation of the UK’s Local Government Association, the Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EU, Denmark).
