ATTENTION! DESPRO announces new "Starosta" e-course

The Institute of starostas is new for Ukraine and will be a powerful local self-government level in future. Though personnel issues are quite acute for amalgamated hromadas and their leaders do not always have the expertise and skills to cope with new challenges. There are almost no proposals on appropriate training from educational institutions. That is why the DESPRO project takes the most active part in strengthening human resources in hromadas and develops training programmes that meet the current needs. Starostas are one of the focusing points in these training programmes.

A new result of the joint work of DESPRO and its partners – an e-distant course "Starosta: local leader, administrator, representative of the interests of the territorial community", that will be accessible to starostas on the web platform LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PRACTICE COMMUNITY http://udl.despro.org.ua/ - was presented at the Congress.

The course was initiated by the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, and the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian project "Decentralisation Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO).

Admission to the e-course "Starosta: local leader, administrator, representative of the interests of the territorial community" is open and will last until 10 June, 23.00.

Beginning of course study – 5 June.

Course duration: 5 weeks

We invite starostas and acting starostas to benefit from the course and strengthen their own professional qualities through distance learning!
